8A Climbing (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects Personal Information to provide our made-to-order services. By using 8aclimbing.com, you consent to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Policy and applicable Canadian laws, including PIPEDA (Federal) and Alberta’s PIPA.

SECTION 2 — INFORMATION COLLECTED

  • Directly Provided: Name, billing/shipping address, email, phone number, and purchase history.

  • Payment Data: Processed via PCI-compliant gateways (Shopify Payments, PayPal). We never see or store your full credit card number.

  • Automatically Collected: IP address, device type, "cookies," and interaction data (pages viewed, time spent) to improve site performance.

SECTION 3 — THIRD-PARTY DATA SHARING

We do not sell your data. However, as a made-to-order business, we must share your information with specific partners to function:

  • Fulfillment Partners: Your name, address, and item choice are shared with our manufacturing partners to print and ship your gear.

  • Logistics: Carriers (Canada Post, UPS, etc.) receive your shipping details.

  • Platform: Shopify Inc. hosts our store and processes your data on secure, encrypted servers.

  • Marketing/Analytics: We use Google Analytics and Meta Pixels to understand our audience.

SECTION 4 — INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS

Important for Canadian Users: Our service providers (including Shopify and POD manufacturers) may be located outside of Canada, primarily in the United States and the European Union. Your personal information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in these jurisdictions. By using our Site, you acknowledge that your data may be subject to the laws and law enforcement access of those countries.

SECTION 5 — COOKIES & TRACKING

We use cookies to keep track of your shopping cart and for "retargeting" (showing you 8A Climbing ads later).

  • You can opt-out of targeted advertising via the Digital Advertising Alliance of Canada or your browser settings.

  • Our Site does not currently respond to "Do Not Track" signals.

SECTION 6 — MOBILE & SMS PRIVACY

If you provide your phone number for shipping updates or marketing:

  • We will not share your mobile opt-in data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

  • You can opt-out of SMS marketing at any time by replying "STOP."

  2. Correction: Ask us to fix inaccurate info.
